RCCYC Programs

The uncertainties of growing up in a complex world can present unforeseeable and unexpected challenges for our children and youth. The ability to adapt and thrive despite these challenges is critical to building whole, healthy, resilient children who will become our future leaders.

RCCYC provides educational, recreational, social, and enrichment programs for children and youth in grades K-12. All of our programs have built-in skill-building components, whether navigating the latest technology, the finer points of basketball, or how to talk to friends. We provide valuable resources for their families and prioritize inclusion with the larger community.

A letter from Pastor Jeffrey A. Johnson, Sr.

    Welcome

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Throughout Eastern Star Church’s history, we have had the privilege of supporting our community through thoughtful engagement and impactful philanthropy. In 2017 we took a bold step in addressing the quality of life in the Arlington Woods neighborhood with the launch of the ROCK Initiative. One of our largest physical representations of this commitment is the completion of the ROCK Community Center for Youth and Children – a 60,000 sq. ft. facility focused on positive environmental design and child development theory, evolving with community needs.

The past few years have not been without their challenges. The pandemic remains a pressing health threat and its economic and social impact continues to reverberate through the most vulnerable families in our community. It’s no surprise to see our community asking for stronger support, especially for their children. With the investment in this center, we are poised to encourage positive lasting changes for our children and youth.

What I’ve witnessed, from conception to ribbon cutting, are the myriad of ways we have come together – nonprofits, agencies, leaders, and families, to support one another in the ever-important work of giving our children what they need to thrive. Thanks to a generous grant and many donors and partners who share our vision, we will provide an engaging place for children to learn and play as well as empowering programming for the youth that will develop into Indianapolis’s next leaders.

On behalf of the Eastern Star Church family and the ROCK Initiative, I want to thank you for your past, current and ongoing support.  As we embark on this next phase of the ROCK Initiative, I invite you to engage with the center and its K-12 programs. Whether you are a member of Eastern Star Church or in our community, we look forward to serving you.

    Welcome

Welcome to the ROCK Community Center!

I am humbled and honored to serve here at the ROCK (Reclaiming Our Community for the Kingdom) Community Center for Youth & Children as the Director of Programming.

This heaven-sent gift that has been provided to the precious youth and children in Arlington Woods and its surrounding communities is timely, amazing, and marvelous beyond words.

I am ecstatic about all the positive relationships, enriching programs & unlimited possibilities that will take place.

Even more, I am grateful for the unified ROCK Village that continues to grow of selfless compassionate individuals who have or plan to sacrifice time, offer abilities and give financially to support our efforts to create a fun space where young people are safe, belong, affirmed, mentored, and loved.

The ROCK Community Center is an innovative and transformative space where youth will be seen and heard, equipped, and empowered, have their gifts unfolded and cultivated and where indelible memories and impact will be made.

For such a time as this, our community needs the ROCK, and the ROCK Community Center needs our community. Pray for us, join with us and Let’s Get Ready to ROCK!

    Respectfully,
